DIVINE PALADIN

Personal Project | Greek / Baroque / Music Album Aesthetic

00

The idea here is collision – the collision of classical sculpture with the modernity of an album cover. The result is something at once ancient and modern, which is precisely the emotional space of the best album covers.

A Greek sculpture – arms up, sword drawn – is placed against a gradient of purple to gold, moving like the colors of a sunset through stained glass. Sun rays come out of the sun, creating a halo effect that is at the same time religious iconography and rock concert lighting.

The real heavy lifting is done by the text – "Divine Paladin" in an oversized Baroque script with a classical influence, wrapping around the sculpture as if the words themselves are architectural elements rather than labels. The subtitle, "The only way out is through," is rendered in an italic script at chest level, as if it's been carved into the body.

The texture of the grain and the VHS-like aberrations in the colors keep the piece from feeling too polished – it's meant to look like something found, rather than something created.

What this shows a client: if you're a band in the metal, alternative, or post-rock space, or any artist who wants their album cover to feel like a relic from a mythology that doesn't exist yet — this is the direction. Classical reference + modern texture = timeless.
