LELOUCH / CODE GEASS

Code Geass is a series of contradictions: its main character is a terrorist and a liberator, a genius and a martyr. A poster for such a series could not possibly be about just one of those things. It had to be about all of them.
The design is a dossier: an intelligence file on a man who had become a symbol.
At the top, we have a pairing of two silhouettes against a crumpled paper background: one bloody and one clean. "Powerlessness is a crime" in red on the left, and "I'll stop the violence the only way I know how - with more violence" in green on the right.
A horizontal strip of character portraits interrupts the text: RADICAL and PEACEMAKER stamped vertically in bold font, refusing to be categorized.
And then we have the lower half: the full-spread illustration from the scene "Zero Requiem" - monochrome and expansive - but for one design choice that changes everything: the Zero symbol in bold red, bleeding color into a colorless world - the only thing alive in the picture.
At either side of the illustration are kanji: 寒い and 温かい - the thematic extremes of the entire series in two characters.
What this shows a client: anime brands, convention promoters, and fan publishers — I understand how to treat source material with the weight it deserves. This isn't fan art. It's editorial design built around a story.
