ESCANOR
Personal Project | Manga / Anime / Comic Poster
00

The problem with the manga-based posters was always the same: the source material was already busy, and adding more to it would lead to chaos. In the case of the poster, the answer was structure, using the manga panels like photographs within a structure.
The structure is divided into clear sections: a two-panel header, a feature image spanning the width, and a base zone for the text. Each section is separated by thick black borders, echoing the format of the manga panels used here.
The central element, Escanor at full power with a golden border, disrupts the grid by cutting down from the upper panels to the lower zone. This is the source of the energy here, the one element that is completely out of control. The rest of the elements are under the designer's command, but he is not.
The sun imagery is used here in the middle section for a practical reason: a photorealistic sun image was placed directly into the composition, blending media in a way that does not work, but does because of the color temperature match.
The base carries his most iconic dialogue as a comic speech bubble — "Apologize to me, that you were born into my world" — which is both the poster's emotional climax and its clearest hook for any Seven Deadly Sins fan.
What this shows a client: anime conventions, merchandise brands, fan publishers — I build in this world with the same care that goes into every other style I work in.
